Tin.network - A DeFi Dashboard Enhancing User Engagement
Overview
Tin.network is a DeFi dashboard that provides users with comprehensive insights into decentralized finance (DeFi) metrics. It enables users to monitor their crypto assets, track total value locked (TVL) across protocols, and analyze investment performance—all in one intuitive interface. The platform aims to simplify DeFi tracking and enhance user decision-making.

Problem
Analysis of user behavior data from Google Analytics and customer feedback revealed key challenges:
- Low Engagement: Users were not spending significant time interacting with the dashboard.
- Retention Issues: A decline in return users indicated a need for improved stickiness.
- Lack of Differentiation: Users expressed dissatisfaction and were willing to switch to alternative platforms offering better features.
Research & Discovery
To understand user behavior and pain points, I conducted an in-depth analysis using Google Analytics and other tracking tools. The findings included:
- Average engagement time: 4 minutes per session.
- Retention rate: 22% (indicating a high drop-off rate).

User Research
To gain deeper insights, I conducted 1:1 surveys via Telegram targeting different DeFi user personas:
- Newbies – Limited experience in DeFi.
- Medium-level users – Moderate DeFi activity.
- Advanced farmers – Manage multiple wallets and protocols.
Key questions included:
- What are your initial steps after monitoring your assets?
- How often do you check your DeFi portfolio daily?
- What challenges do you face with the current dashboard?
- What missing features would improve your experience?
Competitive Analysis
I analyzed top DeFi dashboards to benchmark key features, UI/UX patterns, and user engagement strategies. This helped identify gaps and opportunities for differentiation.

Goals
- Enhance Usability: Improve UX through research-driven design changes.
- Increase Feature Value: Introduce high-impact features that add real value.
- Boost Engagement: Make the dashboard more interactive and engaging.
- User-Centric Approach: Continuously integrate user feedback into iterations.
Ideation & Feasibility
To define the feature roadmap, I facilitated a card-sorting workshop, allowing users to vote on desired improvements. Features were then mapped using a 2x2 impact vs. effort matrix to prioritize development.

Wireframing & Design
Due to being the sole UX/UI designer on the project, I streamlined the process by moving directly to Figma prototypes instead of detailed user flows. These were tested with users, iterated upon, and refined based on feedback.
Key Enhancements
- Portfolio History: Introduced a one-week historical view for better tracking.
- Direct Harvest Button: Allowed users to collect rewards seamlessly.
- Emergency Withdraw: Enabled users to access funds even when protocol sites were down.
- Radar Feature: Provided advanced analytics for medium-to-expert users.
- Candle Chart Integration: Allowed data visualization without leaving the dashboard.

Success Metrics
To measure the effectiveness of the redesign, we tracked:
- Engagement Time: Increased time spent on the dashboard (Google Analytics).
- Retention Rate: Improved user return rate (GA data).
- User Satisfaction: Collected feedback via HotJar, Twitter, Telegram.
- Market Share: Monitored ranking via Similarweb.
- Transaction Activity: Tracked actions such as claims & withdrawals (Tin DB).
- Monthly Active Users (MAU).
Results & NPS Impact
Post-launch, the redesigned dashboard achieved:
- 📈 Engagement time increased by nearly 90%.
- 🔄 Retention rate improved by 45%.

User Feedback
Monitoring user reactions on Twitter, Telegram, and Reddit provided real-time feedback. Positive sentiment confirmed that the new features enhanced usability and engagement, guiding further iterations.
