Use Augmented Intelligence to enhance your problem-solving

Design thrives on creativity, empathy, and intuition—but complex projects can overwhelm even the most seasoned designer. That’s where Augmented Intelligence (AI) steps in, not to replace the human spark, but to amplify it. In my workflow, I’ve harnessed AI tools (OpenAI, n8n, and Figma) trained on my past case studies to deliver actionable insights quickly and streamline repetitive tasks.

• Complement, Don’t Replace: AI handles data crunching and pattern recognition, while humans provide empathy and imagination.
• Faster Insights: By tapping into a wealth of past projects and user research, I can retrieve relevant solutions or ideas in seconds.
• Automation of Routine Tasks: With workflow tools like n8n, repetitive steps—such as file management and data parsing—are handled automatically, freeing me to focus on design strategy.

1. Collecting Past Work: I gathered project documentation, user research, and design artifacts from my previous UX projects.
2. Embedding & Storage: Using OpenAI’s embedding API, I converted these documents into vector representations. Then, I stored them in a vector database (like Pinecone) for quick retrieval.
3. Workflow Orchestration with n8n:
   • Search & Download: Automatically locate and download relevant design files.
   • Embedding & Indexing: Feed them into the AI to generate vector embeddings, stored for future queries.
   • Query & Insights: When tackling a new design challenge, the workflow checks for similar scenarios in my past work and returns curated suggestions or insights.

• Prototyping & Collaboration: Figma remains my go-to design tool. AI insights can inform wireframes or user flows by highlighting patterns that worked before.
• Live Updates: As I iterate in Figma, new insights—like user feedback or updated research—are fed back into my AI training pipeline via n8n, ensuring continuous improvement.

• Accelerated Discovery: Instead of sifting manually through archives, I can instantly pull up past solutions relevant to the current problem.
• Informed Brainstorming: AI-driven prompts enrich brainstorming sessions by offering fresh angles based on proven design strategies.
• More Time for Creativity: By automating repetitive tasks, I have more headspace to experiment and refine the user experience.

Despite these advantages, I’m mindful that AI is a tool—not a substitute for human insight. Empathy, intuition, and creative leaps remain uniquely human strengths. My role is to interpret AI-generated suggestions and adapt them to real user needs, ensuring designs remain user-centric and emotionally resonant.

I plan to deepen this synergy by incorporating real-time analytics, user feedback loops, and additional data types (like audio or video) into my AI training. As I refine these workflows, my goal is to empower not just myself but also my team—making it easier for everyone to leverage AI as a creative ally.
